The Econometrics Lab is a computing environment for faculty and graduate students at the Department of Economics at the University of Illinois.

The Econometrics Lab is composed by two servers Ragnar and Ysidro. They were named after Ragnar Frisch and Francis Ysidro Edgeworth.

The center piece is Ragnar. It is a server with two Intel Xeon E5-2640v2 8-cores (16-thread) 2.00 GHz processors and 396 GB of RAM memory. Ragnar currently uses Scientific Linux 6.6 (Carbon) as its operating system and provides access to recent versions of R, Stata, Matlab and Mathematica.

Ysidro is a server with two Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X5560 four-core (6-thread) 2.80 GHz processors and 64 GB of memory. Ysidro currently uses Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.11 (Tikanga). Now it is only used for operational purpose.

The Econometrics Laboratory is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
