Course TA:

Time: The class meets Monday and Wednesday from 11:30-1:20pm in 215 DKH.

TA Section: There is a TA recitation once a week.
  Time: Thursday, 5:00-6:50pm

Text book:Microeconomic Theory by Mas-Colell, Whinston and Green

Examinations: There will be one quiz, one mid-term and one final examination. The final examination is not cummulative. Details will be announced. On the midterm and final you can get a maximum of 100 points. On the quiz you can get a maximum of about 20 points

The quiz will be on Monday, October 5 during the regular class time (length: about 30 minutes)

The mid-term examination will be on Monday, October 19 during the regular class time.

The final examination is Friday, December 18 from 8:00am-11:00 am (in 215DKH).

Homework: Homework will be posted periodically and the due date will be clearly indicated. You must turn in your homework at the due date. Each homework counts for up to 3 points. Doing the homework is also important in order to do well on the quiz and the exams.


Course Content: The course will cover the material of Chapters 1 to 6 from the textbook. Mathematical methods will be introduced and discussed as they are needed.

The objective of the course is to provide with you a good understanding of the basic tools of microeconomics and to prepare you for Econ502 and Econ504.
