The Econometrics Consultant

My name is Alvaro Novo, I am a fourth year PhD student at the Department of Economics. I am the Econometrics Consultant working jointly for the Department of Economics and the Office of Computing and Communications for the Social Sciences.

I provide computer and econometric consulting to faculty and students working on research projects. I also help with system administration at the Econometrics Lab located at Room 458 in the Commerce West building. Please note that starting with the fall semester of 1997 accounts at the econometrics lab are only open after the approval of an application to use it. The application is available for download from the econometrics lab site.

My office hours for the Fall '00 semester will be:

    Tuesdays: 8 to 10 am
    Thursdays: 8 to 10 am

at the Econometrics Lab (ph. 333-4581). For a more efficient service, try to contact me by e-mail at novo@uiuc.edu. Write a short description of your problem and I will schedule an appointment to discuss it with you. For minor problems, feel free to walk in during my office hours.
