The Econometrics Lab is a computing environment for faculty and graduate students at UIUC. Its centerpiece is ragnar, a server with two Intel Xeon X5660 six-core (12-thread) 2.80 GHz processors and 64 GB of memory; ragnar currently uses Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.7 as its operating system and provides access to recent versions of R, Stata, SAS, Mathematica, and MATLAB.

As of Fall 2011, the Econometrics Lab is located in 126 David Kinley Hall. The lab consultant for Fall 2011 is Andreas Hagemann (ahagema2@illinois.edu).

Students that have taken Econ574 can use the computer ragnar remotely and through the terminals in the Lab. You can come by or send an email to apply for an account.
