Garnet passed away today. I saw her five days ago at the rink when I flew in from Mali to play in the pick-up / benefit game. She was still rockin'. I never met anyone that lived with so much fire in her. Fuck cancer.
Coach Aaron got married Saturday, as we advanced to the State Final. We drove down from Chicago, partied with him, and drove back up the next morning. We played like lions. State Champions....it has a nice ring, doesn't it?
I scored. Backhand. Then we beat St. Louis, who have been invincible for four years. As Audrey says, "Yo! I slap up your punk ass bitch!"
We beat Madison with 6 skaters. They had 9 on the bench. We rule.
Hasek was injured so Garnet and I saw Martin Biron instead. And the Sabres lost. :-(
St. Louis inventory: Shots: 5. Penalties: 0. Goals: 0. Bruised: tricep, shin, wrist, ass.
Madison/Chicago: Shots:8. Penalties: 1. Goals : 1. Bruised: Pride.
I thought we played really well, except for when the defense gave the puck away in the neutral zone and then skated for a change.

Saturday I saw Dominic Hasek and now my life is complete.
Madison was slow and incompetant and we won 8-1. I got an assist on Becky's goal and took a few shots.
